The Body Shop India responds...

The Body Shop India sent me a response to this post I wrote a few days ago. They say,

Dear Blogger
This mail is in reference to your blog update titled- “Is The Body Shop India selling expired products?
There appears to be some confusion, we ensure all our products are of high quality. The Body Shop International trades in over 60 countries worldwide. We treat each country we trade in with equal respect, ensuring that our products meet the most stringent international quality standards. Is The Body Shop India selling expired products?

I'm sure a lot of you have already read this post by Sweet & Bitter on The Body Shop Sale & also this article in Time of India. If not, please go and read it, especially if you are a TBS India customer.

Basically TBS has been accused of tampering with the best-before tags and paste new ones on top of the old ones and selling them off in their sales.

On a discussion on FB with other beauty enthusiasts, I found that a lot of people out there didn't really know about the 5 major giants who control most of the beauty market. Between them I suspect they control close to 50% to 70% of the brands out there. And they are:

Japanese skin care & me

A long time ago I had reviewed Neutrogena Fine Fairness toner, the reason I had bought the toner was to use it in a Japanese skin care technique. Basically the technique involves covering the face with cotton that has been wetted with a thin, watery lotion. You can watch the technique in the video below:

At that time some readers had asked me to share my experience with this technique. Honestly I forgot about it and a remark by Kejal today reminded me of it.
Okay, for starters I practiced this technique for two weeks everyday. I would do this in the evening post cleansing my face of all makeup and before moisturizing.
And after two weeks of doing this daily, my skin felt....

MAC Hot Tahiti Lipstick - Review

It claims: Color plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made MAC famous

Price: Rs. 990/- for 3 gms

Shade: Hot Tahiti - Glaze Finish - Soft Reddish Coral

What I liked:

1. The color! MAC says this is a soft reddish coral. By coral here, I don't think they mean the orange - peach undertone. This coral is like that color of the coral stone - a red pink color. This is a very pretty soft red - pink color that looks very soft & sophisticated at the same time. It's the perfect red for all occasions - office, date, party. It goes with most outfits and occasions. The color is very "kissable". It does seem slightly cool toned to me, although I'm not sure tbh. The bullet itself looks a bit intimidating, but applied on the lips - this mellows down a lot.

Guide to Inglot Cosmetics

Its been what, barely two years since Inglot exploded into the consciousness of the Indian beauty blogger, and has since then stolen their hearts thanks to their quality, freedom system & of course, prices. For those of you who are new to this Polish brand, below is a quick guide to stuff I like in their range, and of course, stuff I don't fancy.

Must try products:

1. Inglot Nail Enamel (only flakies) - 202 to 205: I only have 203 at the moment which is this gorgeous blue - green aqua type flakie, but I cannot wait to lay my hands on the rest. Priced at Rs. 490/- they are a bit steep, but in my opinion totally worth the beautiful effect!

2. Inglot Freedom system eyeshadows: The colors, the different finishes, and most importantly the price compared to MAC make these a good deal. The only eyeshadow I have from MAC is from the Prolong Wear Range and obviously these don't last as long as that on my oily lids. But with a primer they do good. Try and get the square ones coz they …
